« backEgg Tuesday – Spice fried eggs!

Nothing gets my day started better in the kitchen than eating an egg. It truly is natures perfect food. I always feel perfectly satiated after eating an egg but more importantly perfectly pleased! Add a little spice to a touch of olive oil gives the egg a beautiful color as well as a ton of flavor. It is probably one of the biggest bangs for the buck in the kitchen whether you are entertaining or just having a quick breakfast. Check out the video and have a delicious day!

Spice fried egg

Per person:

1-2 eggs

1 tsp olive oil

½ tsp of chile powder or any spice you like such as turmeric, ground cumin, smoked paprika, etc.

pinch of salt

Garnish of choice: chopped green onion, chopped fresh cilantro or parsley.

In a non-stick pan over medium heat add the oil. Sprinkle the spice evenly onto the oil. Once hot crack the eggs into the pan.

Sprinkle with a touch of salt. Cook until the white is full set. Flip the egg over or cover and cook until desired doneness.

Place on a plate and garnish. You can also place on a toasted English muffin or bread.

    Hi Jeffrey,

    I love stopping by your space! I just made the spicy fried egg and it was great. Couldn’t decided which spice and finally settled on smokey sweet pepper. Next time I’ll add more spice. Might try with Thai seasoning another day.
